Announced at IFA earlier this month, the Sony VPL-VW550ES 4K HDR projector has already started to make headlines. For anyone that didn’t have a chance to see the projector in Berlin, Marata Vision, Sony’s exclusive UK distributor, is opening the doors of its new demonstration room in Watford for an early preview.
The Sony VPL-VW550ES has a similar exterior design to the VW520ES and offers 1,800 lumens brightness with a native 4K SXRD optical engine, but it packs a lot more of a punch. The contrast ratio is said to be around 20 per cent higher at 350,000:1 and it also includes a proprietary Contrast Enhancer. HDR support comes as standard and the projector will be firmware upgradable to HGL (Hybrid Log-Gamma) HDR in due course.
(Updated) The distributor has set out three slots for the chance to experience this groundbreaking projector live:
The sessions will be led by Marata Vision and Sony's UK Product Specialist team who also will be around to answer any of your questions. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
As spaces are limited you will need to register with Marata Vision before the end of September to avoid missing out. Please email Marata Vision to book your space.. If the above dates are inconvenient Marata Vision says it can arrange a separate demo at a more convenient time.
