Epson has announced a six-pack of high-brightness Pro projectors designed for large venues and auditoriums, along with its first two high-end HDBaseT equipped models. All eight are compatible with Epson EB-G5 series lenses. First out of the gate will be the new EB-G6650WU, EB-G6550WU, EB-G6450WU, EB-G6250W, EB-G6050W and EB-G6350 (pictured above) models, which will begin shipping in March. Offering between 4,500lm to 7,000lm, all can be rotated vertically by 360 degrees, as required.

They'll be followed by the WUXGA EB-G6900WU and XGA EB-G6800 HDBaseT installation projectors. Both are capable of geometric projection, wherein light can be thrown into corners and onto curved surfaces with automatic adjustment to prevent distortion, plus edge blending, which supports widescreen images from a number of projectors to be stitched together seamlessly.

Business manager Graeme Davidson suggests HDBaseT will prove to be a valuable time-saver for installers: "HDBaseT holds exciting potential for integrators. By providing a dedicated interface including video, data and power over Ethernet, HDBaseT will impact installations by reducing complexity, time and cost."

Both the EB-G6900WU and EB-G6800 are suitable for high brightness use and offer a variety of calibration options, including pixel alignment and colour uniformity correction. If you like the sound of this duo, be prepared for a bit of a wait though. They're not expected to ship until June 2013.
