Leading CI distributor AWE has boosted its ultra-high definition offerings with two more Samsung UHD 4K LED LCD screens. The 55-inch UE55F9000 and 65-inch UE65F9000 join the over-sized 85-inch UE85S9 model (pictured above), and have been confirmed as the only Samsung 4K screens to be available in a flat form factor for this year. Incoming models utilise a curved panel.

"We've had the advantage of stocking the fantastic Samsung S9 and LG 84LM960V for several months now. While they still remain the flagship models for both brands, it's also important for us to offer 4K screens of differing sizes," explains AWE MD Stuart Tickle. "By now offering the UE55F9000 and UE65F9000 units, end-users can still enjoy UHD resolution without having to compromise on space, quality and functionality."

The feature count on these screens is high, with a quad-core processor, advanced Smart streaming services and voice, face recognition and gesture control. All models also support active 3D playback.

UHD 4K screens offer four times the resolution of Full HD models. In practical terms, that means integrators can place larger screens closer to seating positions than has been possible before. The sets also have an external connection tuner box. Not only can this be hidden out of sight, but it also allows the TV to be upgraded with HDMI 2.0 connectivity and HEVC h.265 decoding, as and when it becomes available.
