The latest iteration of the Mirage operating system from Autonomic, OS5, includes a welcome splash of helpful new functionality, including Gracenote integration and access to Autonomic's proprietary dealer portal. The latter offers installers the ability to access customer Mirage Audio systems remotely, enabling them to configure, push new firmware updates, and perform diagnostics. It even includes a geographic map of Mirage Audio System installations for easy management.
Chris Dawson, sales specialist at distributor Invision UK, believes the dealer portal will prove an "immense benefit" to installers and end-users alike. "Integrators can serve their customers far more quickly, while the addition of Gracenote will further enhance the user experience by providing attractive cover art on their displays." The database look-up automatically searches out and adds any missing cover art to albums and DVDs, and replaces low-res covers with high-res alternatives.
The Mirage Audio System is high-end whole-home audio system, that supports high definition music files, iTunes and WMP playlists, along with Internet radio stations via TuneIn. It comprises a Mirage Media Server and a choice of two digital amplifiers, two in-wall control options and free apps for iOS and Android devices. All components can be mixed and matched in any configuration as required. Up to 96 different zones of audio can be supported, making the system a versatile option for everything from small residential projects to large commercial environments.
