Arcam is offering Blu-ray fans an opportunity to grab its highly regarded BDP300 player for a 1080p song, as part of a trade-in promotion that lasts until the end of January 2014. The deck, which its makers claim offers audiophile grade CD playback as well as tip-top HD, is available for just £500 when traded in against any Arcam disc player. That's a huge £500 discount against the deck's list price. Non-Arcam owners can save save £400 and get the player for £600 by trading any form of old disc player, "even that £29 Argos DVD Player," say the company. The offer is only applicable to UK buyers.

Arcam has set the pace when it comes to high performance disc spinners. "When we launched our first DVD player, the DV88, it was the first high performance video player that delivered audiophile sound quality to rival expensive standalone CD players," declares the brand. "Our engineers believe that there is no technical reason why a video player can't also deliver great music performance. The BDP300 proves the point."
