AMX has used ISE 2014 to make a renewed play for the residential home control market, showcasing its new line of Modero X Series G5 touch panels and audio video distribution solutions, as well as demonstrating its latest commercial technology management tools.
Extending their functionality beyond mere system control, the new Modero X screens can now run dedicated apps and browse online, as well as offer a dedicated automation and control interface. In addition to a new G5 graphics engine, the brand has also quadrupled the processing power in the panels with a best in class Quad Core processor. A new multi-surface mount solution also allows the screens to be installed on practically any surface, including glass and granite. All Modero touch panels are fully SIP v2.0 compliant, making them straightforward to integrate with SIP-based door entry systems.
The brand also demonstrated its highly versatile Alero power amplifier (ALR-AMP-8). A compact 1RU chassis means the Alero can be accommodated virtually anywhere, including confined unventilated spaces. Used in conjunction with the Precis DSP Distributed Audio matrix switcher, integrators have access to a completely unified, whole-home distributed audio source switching and amplification solution.
And to help distribute video sources over long distances around a home network, AMX proffered its Enova DGX Digital Media Switcher range. The first modular digital media switcher with a built-in central controller, the Enova DGX can manage and distribute analogue plus digital audio and video including HDMI with HDCP, control and Ethernet without any of the problems associated with HDCP authenticated content distribution and switching. AMX InstaGate Pro technology offers plug-and-play operation, while built-in SmartScale technology on every output ensures that video is scaled automatically for each connected display, regardless of source resolution.
On the technology management front, AMX unveiled its RMS Cloud and Quick Response Scheduling functionality for room and AV asset control, alongside the ninth and 10th model configurations of its Enova DVX All-In-One Presentation Switcher, the DVX-3156HD-SP and DVX-3156HD-T. Featuring four built-in AMX DXLink distance transport inputs, the new models are designed for conference rooms, classrooms and flexible meeting spaces requiring multiple distant connection points.
